What is the next step for TP and CYFRA+?

Telekomunikacja Polska (Polish Telecom) declares its willingness to continue a cooperation with CYFRA+ both in the field of content and by offering CYFRA+ channels in the services of Telekomunikacja Polska. This cooperation depends on the right agreement between both operators.

CYFRA+ and Telekomunikacja Polska have been working together for several years. This cooperation started with a joint victory in the tender for the rights to show Polish football league Ekstraklasa. These games can now be viewed on CANAL+ and Orange Sport. CANAL+ and Orange Sport gained more sports rights, including French football league and NBA.

At the same time customers of TP multipackage customers could watch CYFRA+ channels. This situation was about to change this year when the Polish Telecom announced the start of its own DTH platform and stopped selling CYFRA+ packages. Now TP can offer some channels from CYFRA+ but TP clients must be aware that the offer may be incomplete in comparison to the satellite offering.
