2008-04-16: Informacyjny kanał Polsatu będzie nosił nazwę Polsat News, a nie jak wcześniej zapowiadano - Polsat 24. Właściciel Telewizji Polsat, Zygmunt Solorz, w rozmowie z Gazetą Prawną zapewnił, że nowy kanał informacyjny Polsatu ruszy już w czerwcu 2008 roku.

Polsat 2 to remain FTA

2008-04-15: Polsat Television has denied an information concerning the encryption on European Polsat 2 signal. Polsat 2 transmission will remain free-to-air on Hot Bird 6 13E satellite. For American and Australian viewers the signal will still be encrypted. Polsat 2 plans to only widen its programme offer.

2008-04-15: Telewizja Polsat zdementowała informację na temat planowanego zakodowania przekazu kanału Polsat 2 w Europie. Emisja pozostanie niekodowana z satelity Hot Bird 6 - 13E. Sygnał będzie nadal zaszyfrowany dla widzów w Ameryce i Australii. Polsat 2 rozszerzy jedynie ramówkę o nowe pozycje programowe.

2008-04-14: Cyfra+ and n platform subscribers will not be able to watch Polsat 2 for free. The channel will no longer be free-to-air, it\'s going to be scrambled and available only in Cyfrowy Polsat. In the summer of 2008 a new soft erotic channel for men will be launched - Play TV.

2008-04-13: Jeszcze w tym roku skończy się darmowe oglądanie kanału Polsat 2 z dekoderów Cyfry+ i n oraz odbiorników FTA. Kanał będzie kodowany w Nagravision na potrzeby największej platformy Cyfrowy Polsat. Latem 2008 w Cyfrowym Polsacie ma wystartować zapowiadany kanał dla mężczyzn - Play TV.

Three broadcast licences for Polsat

2008-04-11: On 1st April 2008 a meeting of Polish KRRiT (The National Broadcasting Council) was held and Polsat television has obtained a long awaited broadcast lincences for three new channels: Polsat HD, Polsat Sport HD i Polsat 24. As a result of this decision Polsat Sport HD, available for a few months in a test transmission, can start a regular transmission.

Cyfrowy Polsat incomes reach nearly 800m PLN

2008-04-10: Dominik Libicki, chairman of Cyfrowy Polsat, has infromed on a press conference that the numer of platform\'s subscribers came in February 2008 to 2,15 million. Churn (number of the clients who leave platfrom) of the company is 5.7 and it is supposedly the world\'s lowest among the companies that publish such data.

Cyfrowy Polsat adds TV Silesia

2008-04-10: On 7th April a new free-to-air local Polish channel, Telewizja Silesia (TVS), has appeared in Cyfrowy Polsat. TVS is available for all subscribers on channel 71. TV Silesia is a private television that promotes the Silesia region, mainly its culture, heritage, history, places worth visiting, economy and local communities.

Euro 2008 from satellite only in Cyfrowy Polsat

2008-04-10: Cyfrowy Polsat has started an advertising campaign to promote Euro 2008 footbal championships, available for platform\'s subscribers. The main purpose of this campaign is to announce to every footbal fan that Euro 2008 will be available from satellite only in Cyfrowy Polsat. All matches will be transmitted only on Polsat Sport Extra and in HD.
