Cyfra+ with a new uplink station

Cyfra+ prepares to a start of an uplink station localised in a new Canal+ Cyfrowy head office in Warsaw on general Władysław Sikorski Avenue. In the night of 24th April first three channels were switched over - Polonia 1, Tele 5 and Edusat.

Transfer of a particular Hot Bird transponders to a new uplink should be finished on 22nd May. Official presentation of a new Canal+ Cyfrowy head office is scheduled for 13th June. Swiching over of Cyfra+ uplink station is a difficult process and there were some problems with the first transponder (92) which caused nearly a 6-hour break in Polonia 1, Tele 5 and Edusat transmission. A similar stoppage in transmission shouldn't appear during the swiching of whole transponders.

Change of an uplink station will not affect technical parameters and the signal quality. More informations on Cyfra+ uplink station will be available in the new SAT Kurier (5/2008) digital television magazine.
