Polsat News starts together with Euro 2008

Polsat News will not be launched on 1st of June as previously announced. Its start has been postponed to 7th of June, the first day of Euro 2008. Reports from the stadiums in Austria and Switzerland should be a powerhouse of this new information channel owned by Zygmunt Solorz-Żak.

Polsat News will be available in Cyfrowy Polsat, a platform that has 2.2 million subscribers. Broadcaster negotiates with cable operators. Transmissions from Euro 2008 should encouraged cable networks to add Polsat News to their offer. Polsat, which has the rights to Euro 2008, will send a television team consisting of 700 people to football championships.

The channel will be created by the journalists of "Wydarzenia" (Dorota Gawryluk and Beata Grabarczyk) from Polsat and TV Biznes. Beata Grabarczyk will host a new one hour long journalistic programme - every day at 20:00. Other regular programes are: "Biznes Wydarzenia" and "Sam na sam" moved from TV Biznes.
