On Saturday, 7th of June at 7 AM Polsat News began regular transmission. It\'s a new, free-to-air, Polish informative channel. Until 1st of September station does not intend to encode its signal from the Hot Bird 6 - 13E satellite at 11,158 GHz, pol. V.

Polsat News launch date conicides with the start of Euro 2008 football championships. Channel is available in 16:9 picture format form 7 AM to midnight. First and foremost, Polsat News will present news from Poland but thanks to the partnership with CNN news from all over the world are also going to be presented.

Can Polsat News become a rival of TVN24 and TVP Info? Time will tell.

Station will remain as free-to-air until September when new line-up should be introduced. Polsat News' target audience are open Polsat viewers. Channel is available in Cyfrowy Polsat and cable network UPC Polska.

Polsat News is the fifth informative Polish channel, others are:
- TVN24 (132,900 viewers - May 2008),
- TVP Info (217,880 viewers),
- Superstacja (over 11,000 viewers),
- TV Biznes (over 2,400 viewers),
- TVN CNBC Biznes (over 1,900 viewers).
