CANAL+ 3D test on 13E

On 26th of April Polish CANAL+ launched the first HD 3D transmission in the history of Polish television. The transmission was free-to-air so everyone with a digital receiver could watch it but the correct visual effect can only be obtained by using a suitable TV model and special glasses. The first 3D broadcast will be carried out on 15th of May 2010 an it will be free-to-air live tramsmision of a match from Polish football league Ekstraklasa.

First CANAL+ plans for the 3D transmission appeared at the end of March. CANAL+ will be the  first broadcaster in Poland with 3D transmission, followed by other satellite operators. Special 3D car and nine cameras will be borrowed from Italy. Production will be carried out separately for 3D and HD/SD. 3D cameras must be installed at a greater distance than the usual HD cameras - about 25 meters from the line.
