HD channels in Cyfrowy Polsat still free

It seems that Cyfrowy Polsat will extend the promotion for HD channels to subscribers who have bought Samsung HD decoder or CI module with HD. The original plan was to finish the promotion on 30th of June 2008. No new decision regarding the access to HD channels has been taken.

30th of June 2008 date was given to reassure buyers who wanted to watch all of the Euro 2008 matches in HD quality. But now, after Ppland is out of the tournament, customers ask what will happen with the HD channels after 30th of June.

Generally, nothing should happen - you can easily buy modules and HD set-top boxes because nothing will change in Cyfrowy Polsat until the new packages or promotions are created and access to High Definition channels will remain free, perhaps even until August or September. Subscribers will be informed in advance of new promotions or HD packages in Cyfrowy Polsat.

Cyfrowy Polsat is considered to be one of the cheapest platforms (HBO package is the cheapest in Poland) so Polsat isn't expected to block the access to HD channels with a very high price. Polsat can place HD channels in different packages, maybe HBO HD will join to HBO package and sports channels to Relax Mix package with an additional small fee.
