Polsat HD from 16th of September?

Not later than on 16th of September we can expect a launch of a long-announced version of Polsat in high definition - Polsat HD. Promotional materials of UEFA Champions League available on Polsat informes us of HD transmissions and includes Polsat HD logo. Champions League starts on 16th of September. The first plans to launch Polsat HD appeared in September 2007 and it was supposed to be a completely separate version from Polsat SD.

This time there are many promotional materials with Polsat HD logo. These materials suggest that preparations to launch Polsat HD are in advanced stage and the station will finally appear on Cyfrowy Polsat platform. In addition to Polsat HD, Cyfrowy Polsat has plans to introduce other new products such as 3 new channels: Polsat Kino, Polsat dla Dzieci and Polsat dla Mlodziezy (Polsat has already received appropriate licenses from the National Broadcasting Council) and also there is also a possibility of launching services similar to VOD (PPV?).
