2.844 mln subscribers of Cyfrowy Polsat

Cyfrowy Polsat, the largest digital satellite platform in Poland and 5th in Europe, announced its financial results for the first half of 2009. Subscriber base has increased by 24% to 2.844 million from 2.288 million in June 2008. At the end of first quarter platform had 2.802.056 subscribers, in the second quarter 42.050 new cliens were added. Familijny package ARPU has increased by 4.7% Revenues were increased by 25% to 660 mln PLN from 526 mln PLN in the same period of 2008.

EBITDA fell by 10% to 171 mln PLN from 191 mln in the corresponding period of 2008. Adjusted EBITDA has increased by 19% to 227 mln PLN. Net profit fell by 10% to 129 mln PLN from 143 mln in the corresponding period of 2008. Adjusted net profit rose by 21% to 173 mln. Number of telecommunication services users was 55.000 on 30th of June 2009.

At the end of second quarter Cyfrowy Polsat had 2.844.106 subscribers, that is 24.3% more than in second quarter of 2008, when the platform had 2.287.666 subscribers. Number of Familijny package subscribers has increased by 16.5% to 2.311.382 and represented 81% of entire subscriber base, while the number of Mini and Mini Max packages grew by 76.0% to 532.724 subscribers (19% of entire subscriber base).

For the six months ended on 30th of June 2009 the average monthly revenue per subscriber was 34.6 PLN. Average monthly revenue per subscriber  of Familijny package rose about 4.7% to 40.1 PLN (from 38.3 PLN in the corresponding period of 2008). Average monthly revenue per subscriber of Mini package rose 3.5% to 8.8 PLN from 8.5 PLN in the corresponding period of 2008.
